WPIAL CHAMPIONSHIP YEAR – 1990-91

The success was building. After three consectutive playoff seasons, the Butler boys wanted more. And they got it. 1991 is clearly the “best-ever” Butler basketball season. 27 wins, 4 WPIAL playoff wins cultimating in Butlers’s only WPIAL championship and a PIAA tournament run ending with a “gut wrenching” 3 point loss to Altoona(remember Soph. Dan Fortson) in the western final.
