Needing a win in the last game of the season against Seneca Valley and down by 7 points with 5 minutes to play, the boys "refused to lose". Led by the seniors they rallied to tie the game in regulation and the 1st overtime. In the 2nd overtime, with the score tied Seneca is holding the ball for the last shot. They missed the shot and David Tompkins got the rebound, outletted to Nate Snodgrass who rushed down the court and made a beautiful pass to Matt Baranchak who "laid it in" as time expired. Butler 52 Seneca Valley 50.
The Butler players and students rushed on to the floor and there was a big pile of celebrants under the Butler hoop.
With the win Butler is part of a 3-way tie for 3rd & 4th place in the section and qualifies for the playoffs for the 3rd year in a row.

At half-time of the Buitler versus North Allegheny boys game on January 31, the Butler Basketball Boosters recognized long time board member and treasure Dennis Tyra. Facing a must win situation, Nate Snodgrass exploded for 42 points, 10 assists, 5 rebounds and 4 steals to lead his team to an 81-60 win against North Allegheny. The win vaulted Butler back into the race for a playoff spot.
With the 42 points, Nate "blew by" the 1000 career points goal and is now at 1013. The 42 points is the 4th highest on the all-time single game list.
Nate "wowed" the fans with a series of "athletic" drives to the hoop. N.A. had no answer to stopping him. NATE-THE- GREAT is worth the price of admission. Feel free to leave your comment about Nate's performance. At left is a picture of N.A. trying to stop Nate.

Returning 2 year starter and leading scorer, Caitlyn Baxter, suffered a season ending knee injury in a recent practice session. She will have surgery this coming Wednesday.
